Preparatory Academy Charter Schools ( www.freedomprep.org ) is a
K-12 charter school in Memphis, TN and Alabama. Our mission is to
prepare all students in grades K-12 to excel in college and in
life. Freedom Preparatory Academy opened in August of 2009 with a
class of 96 6th graders. We now serve over 2,000 students in grades
K-12 and launched in Birmingham, AL with K-1 to grow to a K-5
campus. In the fifteen years we have been operating, our students
have exceeded local and state averages in math and local averages
in English language arts on the state exam. We have three core
beliefs that drive our mission: Every child deserves the right to a
high quality public education, a foundation in character
development is essential, and direct exposure to an array of
opportunities and experiences provides each child with the
self-confidence and social knowledge to compete globally. We will
accomplish our mission through a highly structured, academically
rigorous environment where students will master the core subjects,
develop advanced academic skills, and demonstrate the school’s core

Community. POSITION OVERVIEW The Executive Assistant will support
the work of the Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Preparatory
Charter Schools. In addition to ongoing administrative,
correspondence, and scheduling support, the Executive Assistant
will manage research, governance, external relations, event
planning, and school-based projects. This is an opportunity to work
closely with one of the leading education reformers in Memphis, TN
while gaining insight about non-profit management and the work of
the leadership team for a top charter school management
organization. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional
multi-tasking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication
skills and be extraordinarily self-directed. RESPONSIBILITIES ?
Event Planning and Logistics Design, plan, coordinate and lead the
execution of the logistics, operations, and communications for
staff trainings, school leader workshops, meetings, interviews,
retreats and conferences. Work closely with the event facilitators
in planning the session agendas and creating materials. Gather and
analyze feedback regarding event agenda, content, and logistics in
order to inform future planning. ? Scheduling and Administrative
Support Provide overall coordination for the CEO’s calendar,
ensuring the time of the CEO is maximized and operating in line
with FPA’s priorities. Schedule meetings, manage requests, and
additional administrative tasks (such as making travel
arrangements, processing mileage and reimbursements, checking
voicemail, drafting correspondence and preparing materials for
conference calls and meetings). Provide targeted support to the
Chief Level Staff on key projects that align with the CEO’s
priorities. ? Research, Data Analysis and Project Management
Complete complex projects and create PowerPoints as identified to
support the work of the CEO and Chief Level Executives. Research,
prioritize, and follow-up on incoming issues and concerns addressed
to the Chief, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature
while determining appropriate next steps. ? Writing and
Communication Draft and proofread documents to ensure accurate and
effective communication, and maintain daily email and phone
correspondences. Manage internal and external communications with
high-stakes constituents. Abide by all state and federal mandates
in reporting sexual or physical abuse and neglect. Other duties as
assigned aligned with the scope of the position according to the
Hiring Manager/Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS ? Interest in performing a
critical support role while learning in a fast-paced,
entrepreneurial environment ? Excellent written and verbal
communication skills ? Detail- oriented and highly organized ?
Ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed ?
Highly motivated and capable of seeing project through from
beginning to end ? Very flexible, mature, and humble ? Sense of
humor, strong work ethic, “roll-up-my-sleeves” attitude ?
Result-oriented individual and willing to do “whatever it takes” ?
Belief in the Freedom Prep’s mission and educational model ? Solid
technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office and comfort
with learning new technologies ? Bachelor’s degree from a
competitive college or university ? 0-3 years of work experience ?
Memphis is the preferred location, but Atlanta or Birmingham may
also be options. REPORTS TO Chief Executive Officer PTO POLICY
