ACI Director of Engineering & Quality

ACI Building Systems - Batesville, MS

Engineering Responsibilities:

- Lead Engineering & Drafting to ensure Safety, Quality, On Time Delivery, Cost, and Weight, are all prioritized throughout the process from concept to customer delivery.

- Manage and mentor the Engineering and Drafting personnel.

- Provide technical leadership to all engineering and supporting areas of the company.

- Assist as needed with reviewing, editing, approving drawings.

- Support standardization and strategies across both ACI and their sister company, Alliance Steel.

- Collaborate with Sales and Project Management on industry standards and changes.

Quality Responsibilities:

- Direct and oversee the quality control department and supervisory staff at ACI.

- Evaluate production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.

- Collaborates with co-management across production to draft acceptable quality standards.

- Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes.

- Assess test results and approves recommended changes.

- Schedules and manages internal and external audits as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain yearly budget for Engineering and Quality departments.

- Conduct yearly SMART goal setting and evaluation with employees, with year-round check in meetings.

- Weekly report out on key metrics to Executive Staff.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to train staff.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

- Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development, predominately in the building industry.

- Through understanding of Quality Control Standards and Methodologies.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.

Education/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering job experience.

- 10 years management experience.

Additional Preferences:

- P.E. Licensure

- CWI Program understanding

- 10% travel
