Stratas Foods LLC is the leading supplier of fats and oils to the
Foodservice, Food Ingredients and Retail Private Label markets in
North America and is a producer of quality bulk and packaged
dressings, mayonnaise and sauces. Stratas Foods was formed in
October 2008 as a 50/50 joint venture between ACH Food Companies
(ACH) and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM).
Manufacturing facilities are located in Dallas and Houston, TX;
Decatur and Quincy, IL; Englewood, NJ; Fresno, CA; Nashville, TN;
and Valdosta, GA. Corporate offices are located in Memphis, TN. We

The procurement/risk management position is responsible for the
direction, planning and coordination of procurement and supply
chain activities for assigned edible oils. The individual will
purchase goods that support quality, cost, and service level
standards, manage standards, manage business relationships with
related suppliers and key industry personnel, continually evaluate
the risk management strategies (including hedging and cash
purchases) and execute plans to meet changing economic and
competitive situations. This position will work with sales to
develop customer risk management strategies, conduct market
presentations and solidify Stratas Foods as the supplier of
- Assist in the development and execution of procurement,
hedging, and risk management strategies for all edible oils to
minimize price risk exposure including contract management
- Provide supply and demand commodity input analysis, price
forecasting, commodity research, and cost risk management for major
- Provide Key Management with regular analysis and updates on
commodity markets, risk strategies, and business impacts including
both internal and external presentations
- Assist sales in development of customer risk management
programs. Participate in customer visits as the commodity expert
and present market analysis and forecasts.
- Tracks, monitors, and manage daily oil positions to insure all
risk management strategies are fully met.
- Aggressively work with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance,
and other key internal support areas to insure all are aware and
working toward key department objectives
- Participate in supply chain activities

diverse information. Uses intuition and experience to complement
Business/Financial Acumen - This position involves P&L
management and responsibility. Must understand financial
implications of various business decisions. Displays orientation to
profitability, works within approved budget.

external people, companies and positions. Must be able to establish
relationships, foster teamwork and build consensus
Communication Skills - will be actively involved in conveying
information and ideas, both in written and verbal form. Strong
presentation skills are a must.

motivates others to perform well. Takes responsibility for
Minimum BS/BBA in relevant academic field.
Preferred BS/BBA in Agricultural Economics and/or MBA.
Minimum of 5-7 years related commodity or futures trading and/or
direct ag-based commodity procurement.
Must have excellent experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements
Physical: Normal level of routine activity. Must be able to travel
at least 30% of the time. Must be capable of occasionally lifting
boxes and other bulky items weighing approximately 30-50 pounds
Sensory: Must be able to speak clearly and listen effectively.
Generally good sensory skills in order to work effectively and give
direction to technical services on projects
Mental/Reasoning: Must be able to rationalize every situation and
make recommendations. Must be able to analyze the business results
and make directional changes as required
