Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 2 years of experience required; Neuro experience is required License: Active RN license in the state or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Level I Trauma experience required Travel experience required Large hospital experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a step down unit. The role involves caring for patients in a neuro step down and med-surg overflow environment. Patient diagnoses include cardiac medications, CHF, AMI, post catheterization lab procedures, PPM placements, and ablations. Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:6 or 1:7, with team nursing emphasized. The schedule may change during the interview process. Weekend and holiday coverage is required. Candidates must be willing to work two of the three major holidays if they fall during the assignment. Floating to like units may be required within a certain distance. Ideal candidates will have experience with telemetry and IV starts. Cerner experience is preferred.
