Job Description:

and compassionate Registered Nurse - LDRP to join our growing
healthcare team. The Registered Nurse - LDRP provides comprehensive
nursing care to laboring, delivering, recovering, and postpartum
mothers and their newborns in accordance with AWHONN, ACOG, STABLE,
NRP , and Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) standards. This
role includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
of care for patients in all stages of labor and postpartum, as well
as newborns. The nurse works closely with interdisciplinary teams,
supports breastfeeding and bonding, participates in emergency
responses, and promotes maternal-newborn safety and education.

Key Responsibilities: Proficiency in antepartum, intrapartum,
postpartum, and newborn care Ability to assess a neonate at
delivery and apply NRP and STABLE protocols in clinical scenarios
Accurate fetal monitoring interpretation and appropriate clinical
response (per AWHONN/ACOG standards) Implementation of
Baby-Friendly practices (10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding)
Promote early and uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact and initiate
breastfeeding within the first hour of life Effective patient and
family education, especially around breastfeeding and postpartum
care Pain assessment and management for mothers and newborns
Knowledge of medication safety, neonatal and maternal pharmacology
Cultural competence and trauma-informed care Strong communication
and teamwork under high-stress, emergent conditions Support and
maintain a culture of safety and quality Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing
program (ADN or BSN required). Licensure/Certifications: Current
unencumbered State of Mississippi or Compact State Registered Nurse
Licensure. Current BLS; NRP, STABLE and ACLS within 1 year of hire.
Fetal monitoring certification preferred. Experience: One (1) or
more years of recent Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience
